If only for a minute or two
"I want to feel the touch my own skin, against the sun, against the wind"
Yeah, I'm a bit bored today just doing some household chores and trying to keep cool because it is pretty frickin humid. I really have only seen people from home one night since I have gotten back, mostly because I was out at Penn State for my brothers graduation. Speaking of which, my bro is now a full fledged meteoroligst...a weatherman extrodinare. The graduation ceremony I attended was actually shorter than my middle school and high school graduation, it was only about an hour. They have about 10-20 graduations at Penn State though, because the school is so damn large. Reading out 40,000 kids names would take about a week, so they do it by school. The school of Earth and Mineral Sciences only had about 150 kids graduating and the guest speaker was pretty brief. They had the guy who invented ultra sound speak, this dude was quite possibly one the coolest and most brilliant people I have ever seen. I didn't understand what his job title was and exactly what he did for living, but he was kind and pretty interesting. They did have a shitty organist for the ceremony though, it sounded like he was being bludgened with a baseball bat while playing...erratic and painful. Other than that though, a pretty good time...I even got to catch up with jon blankenburg who was staying at my bro's apartment for the night. I always found it funny nick and my brother ended up rooming together...seeing as how they weren't even good friends in high school.
I think Ian and I are being huge nerds on Thursday and are going to watch both Star Wars trilogies in one day. Episodes I and II in the morning, III in theatres right afterwards and the original triology in the afternoon and night. It will take all day, but dammit we will get the job done. If anyone is interested in joining us for any part of that, go right ahead...the more nerds the merrier.
I need a haircut bad...but my barber closed down...damn.
I have really been getting into "Evaporated" by Ben Folds Five...I mean I have always liked the song, but now I can't stop listening to it...it is just so damn good.
