ELECTION SPECIAL!!!!WHEEEEE!!!!
"One more inch...you son of a bitch"
According to several exit polls I saw, this election was won on a campaign of "family values" and what are these values... saying your pro-life but knowing that issue will not be overturned by the supreme court and of course homophobia. All this time I thought the election was about the war, the economy and the environment I guess I was wrong.

Has it really come to this?

It all came down to Ohio...it has the nickname of the "buckeye state"...about 100,000 votes.
The youth vote did not show up this election, the same percentage voted in the 2000 election.
Where the fuck did the college vote go?
"I'm sorry that we got here a little bit late and a little bit short," said a hoarse and stoic Kerry, noting that he had called Bush earlier at the White House and said they had a "good conversation." "In America, it is vital that every vote count .. but the outcome should be decided by voters, not a protracted legal fight," Kerry said. "I would not give up this fight if there was a chance that we would prevail."
I am disappointed more than angry
Outcome= Rewards- Cost....this gives us a baseline to work on, but other factors screw with the outcome. Positive number is good, negative number is bad.Make your call.
Dialectial Moments- Period of balance between these opposing tensions. There are 3 main ones:
1.Intergration/Seperation- Together and apart.
2.Stability/Change- Routines no matter how stable need change.
3.Expression/Privacy- You want people to know some aspects, but keep others private.
Reactions To These Dialects:
1.Selection- We satisfy one need and ignore the other. It is almost impossible to do.
2.Seperation-We satisfy each of these dialects in different situations.
3.Neutralization-We meet both needs somewhat, but not completely.
4.Reframing-Rare, we transform the perception of an opposing dialect to be complementary, it is not logical.
Interactional Theory- communication and relationships are systems in which meaning is established through context, punctuation, content and relationship levels of meaning.
The Wisdom Of Jon Stewart
"You feel kind of weird cheering for chaos. There is that sense that the crazier it gets, the better off we are. Before, when I was part of the American public, I was hoping for a reasonable and quick solution [to the impeachment process]. Now, I'm hoping for partisan bedlam and chaos. It's really what serves me best."
"A half-hour show almost doesn't do it justice. There is so much material out there. The 24-hour news networks are talking about news analysis when they have no vested interest in news. They have vested interest in fanning the flames of conflict because that's what gets them ratings. That's what keeps them on the air."
"It reminds me of a dream that I had.. where i woke up.. crying"- on the gay marriage referendums.
Let's hear it from the winner!

"After having voted, and watched the country decide, the overwhelming emotion I feel for humanity is let down. It isn't even so much that Bush won, because frankly, we will survive, it is more the gubernatorial races where belligerant and racist men won over more honest men. The gay marraige propositions overwhelmingly were against. "I want everybody to take one minute, just one damn minute to realize something: The American people nearly impeached president Clinton for his own personal affairs, yet we just re-elected George W. Bush, a man who has sacrificed our American soldiers and the lives of hundreds of thousands or Iraquis, with absolutely no concrete platform. Is it just me?? Bush invaded a foreign country practically blind. At least Clinton could see who he invaded!!! Right now, Canada is looking like the best thing since sliced bread and mac & cheese.- John Dutton
