Tweaked My Nose

"And every day it's changed since then, In every way I've changed since then"
I made up my mind finally and have joined the club soccer team here at TCNJ. I have been to two practices, one was a running practice and the other a regular practice. I had to leave early from both because of my bronchitus and class respectively, but I didn't put up too poor a showing. I was rusty and nervous but just as fast and determined as everyone else there, and boy where there a lot of people there. I think about 33 kids showed up, which is ridiculous for one team. When we decided to have a game, we split into three teams and simply rotated. Apparently they have never had a turnout like that before so it is going to be hard to find playing time and personally that is ok with me. Even if I just play in practice I will be happy, I just miss playing the game. I had a little bit of trouble the first practice seeing as how a kid threw an elbow into my face and blood started pouring out everywhere. I really didn't feel like going out or putting ice on it though, so I simply kept playing while wiping blood away from my nose and mouth. My nose still kinda stings and my teeth still ache from the hit but I should be good to go for tommorrows practice, a sore face is no reason to sit out.
Everyone who gave me birthday wishes and/or gifts, thank you so damn much. I am going to be honest and say I love the birthday greetings, even if people think it is cool to ignore their birthday. John, Erica and Katie(Kellen, not Meo) took me out to a really nice Italian restaurant in Princeton where they proceeded to insult/compliment me. I asked them to kind of roast me all day becuase I really am curious as to what people really think about me. They agreed to do it as long as they could compliment me at dinner, and I thought that was fair. They said I wear really goofy socks, type really loudly and snore occasionally...but that was about the brunt of the mean things they said. I am sure the people back in Hunterdon County could really think of some insulting things to say to me and I hope one day they will say them...as strange as that sounds. The compliments were also nice, but most of them allude me right now...insults are more interesting anyways.
I love all my classes, I have to be honest. I really got lucky with this years crop of professors, even my math and spanish professors are incredibly awesome...and are the only reason I like the class. My spanish professor is out of her fucking mind, but in the best way possible. She likes to dance and sing and tell us about random vacations she took in New York and Peru...and she really knows her spanish. My math professor is supremely laid back and altogether a really nice guy...who also happens to know his stuff. My com professors are decent but I love the material enough that it is ok if they are a bit dry.
Please look into a book called "A Long Way Down" by Nick Hornby...it is a fantastic multi narrative novel. Not Faulkner multi-narrative though...this book actually makes some fucking sense.

I joined club soccer too! 36 was the turn-out at last practice, haha. But I'm told after 2 weeks, people quit en-masse. Perhaps the same will happen with your team. Good luck playing! We are gonna show 'em how its done--haha, right... At least it should be really fun.
